With the help of Albion in the Community (now the Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation), the club was formed in 2015 with just a handful of players.
We now have more than 100 members, male and female, ranging in age – the youngest being in their 40s and the oldest in their 80s.
As simple as the name suggests, walking football really is just football at a walking pace. Running and physical contact are not allowed, making it a gentler and safer version of the game.
Who can play?
Women over 40 and men over 50 can play, up to any age; we have players in their 70s and 80s. We use discretion for people who are younger if they have a health issue. Most sessions are of mixed gender, but we also run women’s sessions.
Find out more about who plays from the Walking Football Association (WFA).
