Many of our members have health issues which mean that they still have to be very wary of becoming infected.
It is essential for their sake that we play a safe distanced version of Walking Football.
This should not be difficult in theory as it is meant to be a non-contact sport.
In addition to existing WFA laws we are strictly observing the non-tackling rule and maintaining a distance of at least one metre from each other. All sessions are refereed to ensure this is the case, as some of us get too eager and end up encroaching on another player. The goalkeeper must wear gloves and no outfield player handles the ball.
Currently we only play out of doors.
On arrival all players are temperature checked and use hand sanitiser prior to playing. People not feeling well are urged to stay away until they are better.
A register of those attending is kept for tracing purposes. Newcomers must contact us beforehand to provide the necessary contact details.
All players should bring 2 shirts - one dark and one light - to avoid the need for bibs.
